RICS created the HomeBuyer Report to give house buyers a clear and easy to read report on the condition of the home they plan to buy, with a minimum of technical jargon. Green, orange and red ratings are an indication of the severity of defects uncovered during the survey. Some areas may be marked as 'Not inspected'. Where the surveyor is unable to gain access to some areas, e.g. the roof of a block of flats, these aspects of the report will not be completed.
