You should have the Building Survey for the property you are contemplating. A HomeBuyer Report will suffice for a mid 20th century of later Paddington house assembled from typical building materials. Bear in mind that certain restrictions exist with the survey - the surveyor is not authorised (unless owners consent provided) open up the structure of the house for example, or assess serviceability of a boiler.
