Technically all forms are ultimately carcinogenic and may lead to lung cancer or fibrosis following prolonged exposure. In fact inhaling a single fibre is not fatal.

If found, care should be taken not to remove it and expert advice must be taken urgently. Getting rid of asbestos will be costly but must be carried out by experts.
